A whale is a large crypto holder whose trades can noticeably move the price of an asset. The threshold depends on the token's market cap: for BTC it's tens of thousands of coins; for a memecoin, hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Whale-tracking tools (Whale Alert, Lookonchain) are popular market-signal sources.
