Bridge — a protocol for transferring assets between different blockchains. The asset is locked on the source chain and a wrapped equivalent is minted on the destination chain. That is how USDT first arrived on TON before native issuance.

Bridges are historically the most-hacked component of DeFi — use official, audited bridges and avoid keeping funds "in transit" longer than necessary.
