TON Whales

TON Whales is a Dubai‑based team building Web3 fintech products for the TON blockchain. Its portfolio includes a decentralized staking platform, the Tonhub wallet, a blockchain explorer, and the Whales Club NFT community.

Overview#

The ecosystem’s core offerings are:

Whales Staking – a set of seven staking pools on TON, each with its own APY and participant count.
Tonhub – a non‑custodial wallet that supports $TON and $USDT on TON and includes an integrated browser.
Blockchain Explorer – a tool for searching transactions, viewing network configuration, and inspecting early miners and $AMBR holders.
The Whales Club – a private NFT club limited to 10 000 whale tokens, with 290 members as of June 2024.
Holders Card – a crypto‑backed payment card linked to a smart‑contract wallet.

Staking platform#

The staking service offers several pools, each charging a 0.2 Toncoin fee for deposits and withdrawals. The standard minimum deposit is 50 Toncoin, except for the Whales Liquid (Beta) pool, where the minimum is 1 Toncoin..

Key metrics (July 2024 data) are:

Tonhub wallet#

Tonhub is a non‑custodial wallet that gives users full control over private keys. It supports native $TON and $USDT on the TON network, provides an embedded browser, and displays full transaction history.

Blockchain Explorer#

The explorer allows users to:

Search and view individual transactions.
Inspect network configuration and early miner data.
View holders of the native $AMBR token, whose price floor is set at 0.1 TON.

The explorer was the first product released by TON Whales, and its name inspired the “Whales” branding for large holders on the TON blockchain.

The Whales Club#

The club grants members access to an exclusive NFT collection of 10 000 whale tokens. Each token features unique accessories; over 300 variations have been created. As of June 2024, the club has 290 members, and 287 tokens provide special benefits, with two legendary tokens marked by a tail tag. NFTs can be bought or sold on the Disintar or Getgems platforms.

Holders Card#

The Holders Card is a crypto‑backed payment card linked to a smart‑contract wallet. Two models exist:

Prepaid card – users deposit cryptocurrency, which is converted to fiat at the exchange rate at the time of top‑up.
Custodial card – a smart‑contract account holds the funds; conversion to fiat occurs at the moment of payment.

Card availability varies by country. Testing was performed by Anatoly Makosov (Tech Lead of TON) in May 2024.

History#

July 2020 – TON mining launched.
2020‑2022 – TON Whales operated the Infinity TON Mining Pool.
January 2022 – focus shifted to staking products and the Tonhub wallet.
June 2022 – Toncoin mining was completed.

Current developments (2024)#

The team is developing a secret banking‑card project integrated directly into Tonhub, enabling direct payments from the wallet balance. Partnerships with technology brands are tracked on the Whales Products Health dashboard, and server performance is monitored via Grafana.
