GRAM is the first Proof‑of‑Work (PoW) jetton on the TON blockchain. Launched in January 2024, it has a fixed emission of 5 billion GRAM, which are distributed exclusively through PoW Givers—public smart contracts that miners draw tokens from by solving PoW puzzles.
Overview#
The jetton’s address is EQC47093oX5Xhb0xuk2lCr2RhS8rj-vul61u4W2UH5ORmG_O. As of the source revision, roughly 965 million GRAM are in circulation, representing about 19.3 % of the total supply, not accounting for any tokens that may have been burned. The project is a community‑driven initiative and is unrelated to the original Gram cryptocurrency that Telegram announced in 2018.
Mining#
Mining began on 30 January 2024 using the lolMiner software, which supports NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel GPUs. Miners connect to the official pool at pool.gramcoin.org to combine hash power and increase their chances of earning GRAM.
- Start price: ~0.00024 TON (≈ $0.00011 when TON traded at $2.13)
- Peak price: $0.084 on 1 April 2024, a 736× rally from launch.
The PoW Givers are programmed to cease token emission in early January 2026.
Gram DNS#
In March 2024, the project introduced Gram DNS (dns.gramcoin.org), a platform that allows users to register domain names with the .gram extension, providing an alternative naming service within the TON ecosystem.

Controversy#
A separate token named “GRAM” appeared roughly two weeks before the PoW GRAM launch, claiming to continue the vision of Telegram’s original Gram. The creators cited the “unfinished business of Pavel Durov.” In 2020, Pavel Durov publicly warned the community about imitation projects using the Gram name, stating that neither he nor Telegram were involved in any such initiatives. This warning remains relevant, as the current GRAM project has no official affiliation with Telegram.
