"Gram" in the TON ecosystem can refer to several different things. To keep them apart:

  • Gram (GRAM) — the native coin of the The Open Network blockchain. Used for fees, staking, and settlements. From 2021 to 2026 it was called Toncoin, and in June 2026 it was renamed back to Gram.
  • Toncoin (2021–2026) — the name and ticker of that same native coin during the 2021–2026 period. A historical note on the renamings.
  • GRM — a third-party Proof-of-Work Jetton on TON (launched in 2024) that uses the name "Gram" but is not affiliated with either Telegram or the native coin.
  • The original Gram (2018) — Telegram's native token, blocked by the SEC in 2019. Its history is covered on the Gram and Toncoin (2021–2026) pages.
